What does a computerised dietary analysis entail?
This service can be provided as part of a standard
appointment or as a stand alone service.
For dietworks to complete a computerised dietary
analysis, a 6 day food diary is sent to you by email or post
for you to complete and return. Once the completed food diary
is received, the information on your diet is analysed with the
aid of a computer package. A report is then written explaining
how your diet compares to the recommended dietary guidelines
for health. Information is also provided on what healthy
changes could be made to help achieve the recommendations for
health.
To request a computerised analysis of your diet -
complete the contact us form and we will send you a food diary
for completion. Payment is required prior to emailing or
posting the final report to you. |

How do I get an appointment with a dietitian?
You can ask your GP or consultant to refer you to your local
NHS Nutrition & Dietetics Department. The dietetic department
would then proceed to offer you an appointment in due course.
If you would like to attend a dietitian privately, an
appointment can be organised with dietworks. If you would like
to discuss any queries that you have or you would like to
arrange an appointment you can:
1. phone dietworks on 02890844949
2. email dietworks on info@dietworksni.co.uk
3. complete the contact form on this website
We will be happy to discuss any concerns or queries that
you have. |

Must I be referred by my doctor?
NHS Nutrition & Dietetic Departments must have a doctor's
referral before the department can offer you an appointment.
Dietworks can make an appointment for you without a doctor's
referral. You can refer yourself to dietworks. However, in some
cases we may need to speak to your GP or consultant to ensure
we have all the correct medical information needed to provide
you with the appropriate advice.
If you have private health insurance, your insurer may
cover the cost of a dietworks consultation. You are advised to
check your policy with your company. For your insurer to cover
the cost of the consultation, it is necessary for your
consultant to refer you to dietworks. |

Does Dietworks contact my GP?
In some cases it is necessary for dietworks to contact your
doctor. This is normally when a person has an existing medical
condition. Dietworks would need to be fully aware of the
correct medical information before providing advice. Dietworks
will inform you if we need to contact your GP prior to
proceeding with the appointment.
Dietworks will write to your GP or consultant following
the initial appointment to explain what advice has been given.
If you do not wish for us to do this, please feel free to
discuss it with us. |
